On May 30, 2023, at Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU), a republican scientific and practical conference was held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. The conference was themed “Non-oil Sector and Global Food Security Problems.”
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Elchin Zeinalalov emphasized that food security is a crucial component of national security. He noted that ensuring food security enables a country to pursue an independent policy, defend its rights, and maintain a unified stance on addressing various challenges. The Azerbaijani state is consistently implementing measures and large-scale government programs to reliably supply food to its population across many sectors, focusing on public health protection and the preservation of national values.
Chairman of the Committee on Agricultural Policy of Milli Majlis (National Parliament) Tahir Rzayev highlighted the achievements of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in agriculture, particularly in livestock breeding and other agricultural sectors, during his leadership from 1969-1981. Rzayev also discussed government subsidies for farmers and the growth of the agricultural sector.
The Turkish General Consul in Ganja, Rejep Oztop, and the Rector of EGE University, Nejdet Budak, acknowledged the continued successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in education and various other fields.
At the conclusion of the event, the Rector of EGE University, Professor Nejdet Budak, was honored with a diploma and an honorary doctor’s robe from the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University.
