The event was organized jointly by the Ganja City Council of Elders, the City Executive Authority, Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, Ganja State University, Azerbaijan Technological University, Ganja Medical College, and the Regional College under Ganja State University.
The conference, held at ADAU, was attended by prominent figures including Yadigar Bədəlov, Head of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Department of the Ganja City Executive Authority; Bayram Yusifov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Council of Elders and Western Regional Coordinator of the organization; Zəfər Qurbanov, Rector of Azerbaijan State Agricultural University; Nurəddin Məmmədov, Chairman of the Ganja City Council of Elders; Rafiq Rzayev, Press Secretary of the Azerbaijan Council of Elders, as well as intellectuals, families of martyrs, academic staff and students of educational institutions, youth, and other representatives of the public.
The conference commenced with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs.
In his opening speech, Zəfər Qurbanov elaborated on the increasingly significant role of women in society. He emphasized that the status and role of women in Azerbaijan have been highly valued, thanks to the successful state policies implemented under President Ilham Aliyev. Bayram Yusifov greeted the participants on behalf of the Chairman of the Council, Member of Parliament, and Professor Eldar Quliyev, as well as in his own name. He highlighted the contributions of Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, First Lady, and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, who has exemplarily represented Azerbaijan on the international stage and showcased the capabilities of Azerbaijani women to the world.
In his remarks, Yadigar Bədəlov stated that the exemplary women’s policy, initiated by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, has been further developed by President Ilham Aliyev. He noted the increasingly active participation of women in the socio-political, economic, and cultural life of the country.
Other speakers reflected on the vital role Azerbaijani women have played throughout history in shaping the nation’s destiny.
The conference concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation, on behalf of the Ganja City Council of Elders, to a group of women distinguished for their exemplary contributions.
