At the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU), an awareness-raising event was held on the topic of “Combating the Illegal Circulation of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and Their Precursors, as well as Drug Addiction”.
At the beginning of the event, the State Anthem was played, and then a minute of silence was observed in honor of the cherished memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of our lands.
In her speech, Aida Gasimova, the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs at ADAU, spoke about the serious dangers that drug addiction poses to society and the severe harm it causes to human health. She emphasized the importance of young people choosing a healthy lifestyle and noted that adherence to national and spiritual values plays a significant role in this regard.
Later, Rashad Musayev, the head of the Drug Control Department of the Ganja City Police Department, spoke about the ongoing awareness-raising and preventive measures against drug addiction in our country. He addressed the consequences of drugs on human life, social welfare, and society as a whole.
During the event, an informative video on the harms of drug addiction was shown to the participants.
Additionally, teachers and students engaged in discussions around the topic, sharing their thoughts on promoting a healthy lifestyle.
At the end, questions were answered.
It is worth noting that the event was aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Increasing awareness about the dangers of drug addiction contributes to the protection of the physical and mental health of students and the wider community.
