A republican scientific-practical conference was held on the topic Sustainable use of natural resources in crop and animal husbandry

A Republican scientific-practical conference on “Sustainable use of natural resources in crop and animal husbandry was held in the building of the Ganja City Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party under the organization of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ADAU).

As part of the Year of Solidarity for a Green World,” the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan held an event dedicated to the 9th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The event began with the National Anthem, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our lands.

In his speech at the conference, the rector of ADAU, Zafar Gurbanov, emphasized that the efficient use of natural resources in agriculture is one of the main priorities of modern agricultural policy. He highlighted the importance of sustainable development in responding to these challenges. He also noted ADAU role as a leading educational and research center for sustainable agriculture, mentioning that the university is establishing international partnerships and working on innovative projects in this field.

The rector stated that this conference serves as an important platform for exchanging scientific and practical experiences aimed at achieving sustainable development goals and ensuring the conservation of natural resources, and he wished success to the conference participants.

After that, a promotional video of ADAU was shown.

Adil Tağıyev, the Deputy Head of the Ganja City Executive Power, emphasized the agricultural potential of the Western region in his speech. He noted that the region has strategic importance in the agricultural sector and that there are extensive opportunities for development in this field.

At the event, Nasar Hayat, a representative of the UNO Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), spoke about the global importance of efficient management of natural resources and stated that sustainable agriculture is a priority worldwide.

The chairman of the YAP Ganja city organization, Bayram Aslanov, emphasized that the achievements in Azerbaijan agricultural sector and the successes in the field of agriculture are the results of the visionary reforms implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, noting that the state has always provided special attention and support to the agricultural sector.

The director of the Agricultural Research Center, Rashad Huseynov, the head of the Horticulture and Vegetable Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Surkhay Novruzlu, the deputy chairman of the Agricultural Services Agency (ASA), Anar Azimov, and the deputy head of the Department for the Organization and Monitoring of Crop Production, Ferman Kerimov, highlighted the importance of conserving and effectively utilizing natural resources in agriculture during their speeches. They also emphasized the importance of implementing innovative approaches in the agricultural sector and the steps taken to ensure sustainable development in the industry.

At the end of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations Organization (UNO).
