A public discussion titled “For a Green Future: Protect Animals, Keep the Environment Clean” was held.

With financial support from the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the public association “Sema and Eco” for Social and Economic Development continues implementing its project titled “Increasing Love for Nature and Care for Animals.”

The next event in the project was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) in Ganja, focusing on the theme “For a Green Future: Protect Animals, Keep the Environment Clean.”

In the public discussion, Irada Hasanova, Chairperson of the “Sema and Eco” Association, highlighted the severe consequences of global climate change, noting that the abnormal weather conditions of recent years reflect its impact.

Project expert and Chairperson of the “Green World” Ecological Awareness Public Association, Elman Jafarli, emphasized Azerbaijan’s significant contributions to mitigating the effects of global climate change.

Shalala Zeynalova, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at ADAU, announced plans to establish a shelter for stray animals with the participation of volunteer nature enthusiasts.

At the end of the discussion, questions from participants were answered.

Following the discussion, a group of attendees organized a cleanup campaign as part of the project, clearing household waste from surrounding areas. The cleanup included gathering plastic bags, water bottles, food scraps, and fruit pits from the area around Student Park on Ozan Street and nearby streets, and disposing of them in waste containers. Educational conversations were also held with local residents.
