A forum titled “Modern Veterinary Education and Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs – 2&4” was held at Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU).

A forum titled “Modern Veterinary Education and Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs – 2&4” was held at Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) in collaboration with “Bayramli Group.”

The event began with a coffee break for participants and guests, followed by the National Anthem. A moment of silence was observed in memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

In his opening remarks, ADAU Rector Zafer Gurbanov emphasized ADAU’s role as the only higher education institution in the country focused on agricultural training, particularly in veterinary science. He highlighted that veterinarians play a crucial role in environmental protection, research, food safety, and public health.

Samad Tomuyev, First Deputy Head of the Ganja City Executive Power, noted the importance of the forum and extended his best wishes for a successful event.

Following the opening remarks, the forum continued with panel discussions.

The first panel, moderated by Ramin Abbasov, Deputy Director of the National Artificial Insemination Center and ADAU faculty member, focused on “Requirements for Veterinary Education Training.” Speakers included Shalala Zeynalova, Dean of ADAU’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Elmeddin Namazov, Deputy Chairman of the Agricultural Services Agency.

The second panel, moderated by Shalala Zeynalova, addressed “New Challenges in Veterinary Development,” featuring presentations by Mehmet Koçak, Deputy Director of Hasvet Baku Animal Hospital, and Mürvet Hasanov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Poultry, Egg Producers, and Exporters Association.

At the conclusion of the panel discussions, participants’ questions were addressed.

Additionally, a group of students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine delivered presentations on the forum’s topics in both Azerbaijani and English.

The forum concluded with a luncheon for participants.
